The Environment & Local Economy
Here in Africa, we are very concerned about the environment,
there are a lot of issues that are very important and serious. One of these has
to do with petrochemicals that are used in farming, fertilizers, insecticides,
how these petrochemicals are bad for the soil (they kill their biological life
in the soils) and not too long, they render the soils in fertile, which means
farmers need more petrochemicals which is more expensive for them.
They get lower yields, the cost of farming rises, the
profits from them decreases and eventually, impoverishes farmers. These big
agricultural and petrochemical companies will fund research to show that the
petrochemicals and their digital technologies are good and wonderful, and have
the best welfare of people in the heart, and so on. But it's actually about
markets and profitability.
The actual issue here isn't increase in population. We have
robots good population in Nigeria. But that is not the reason why these forests
are clean. Industrial farming is the problem, whether it's chickens and
animals, our soils, etc. It's bringing huge cost to the environment and huge
cost to the local economy and local people. It is very sad and this has to be
stopped.
These things as I say, are crimes against humanity and they
must be stopped. We have to have the collective will, we have to have the political
will, we have to have the love for environment and love for humanity, we have
to have a genuine heart, and not this colonial business that we know better.
This industrial farming of a thing is probably the most
destructive issue in our environment. And so if we're going to have climate
change conferences and global summits about the climate, they have to be
honest, and not alarmist to push us into regions that are actually designed to
open up profits financial planning companies, and they're not designed for the
welfare of the people.
The reason desertification is
increasing global corruption. It's disheartening and discouraging that these conferences
others have no concern about this real issues. The Environment Matters and it’s
really important.
We are connected to the earth and
modern civilization has taken man away from the earth and put them in a city,
and has been disconnected with the earth. Man no longer has idea about
ecosystems and his relationship with nature. That's why we've allowed these
chemical companies to run rife.
The critical factor here is to
stop corporate and global corruption. That way, we can stop this fake research
and get back to proper research, which includes all of us. Stop this
politicization that divides us try from driving people to pick from people. We have
to have restored relationships, so we can have diversity in ecosystems; animal
farming, cattle, soils, etc. working together.
We need a new economy, which is
looking after the true wealth of local communities, and not global profits.
This is biblical devotion. And let's address these as the church because the
church is the light of the world. We are the hope.
